Maybe you haven't heard of Boo Weekly, pro golfer on the PGA tour. Well, he was this past year anyway. He's back at Tour School trying to work his way back to the tour. What's the big deal you ask?
Well Boo happened to be the number player on tour in greens in regulation! Number one! One would think that if you hit the golf ball on the green more often than anybody else out there, you would win a ton of money and endorsements galore! You're rich!
Not so. Boo was number one in greens in regulation but 192 in putting. Still, he hit it better on the rest of the golf course than anyone else? I would still think that would set you up for at least the middle of the pack. No, he lost his tour card, and is now having to gruel it out with all the rookies again, to earn his opportunity to play on tour on a regular basis.
Surely he will still get some sponsor exemptions if he doesn't make it but still, first in greens in regulation! He hit it more consistent than anybody else and gets tossed out.
Here's a drill that might help with short putts.
